About us
|
What is AEGRAFLEX?
AEGRAFLEX means „Association EUROPÉENNE DES GRAVEURS
ET DES FLEXOGRAPHES” (European Association of Engravers and
Flexographers) which explains exactly what it is – an
institution, which in conjunction with individual engraver and
flexography Associations of member countries operates
throughout Europe on behalf of the entire industry.
|
|
AEGRAFLEX was founded in 1966 by a small group of engravers and
Flexographers from various countries with the objective of exchanging
experience and skills in the area of engraving and flexography,
promoting closer cooperation between engravers and Flexographers and
their suppliers, and very generally with a view to promote engraving,
flexography and stamp making in Europe. AEGRAFLEX has been officially
registered as an Association in the Amsterdam Trade Register (Kammer van
Koophandel) since 1975 under Register No. 40 59 53 81.
|
Who are the members of AEGRAFLEX?
Its members include the engraving and flexography Associations of
certain countries, viz. Denmark, Germany, France, Norway, Austria and
Sweden as well as corporate members anywhere in Europe. Engraving and
flexography businesses in any member country of the European Union may
become AEGRAFLEX members, hence also in the new accession countries.
Businesses in countries outside Europe may become guest members of
AEGRAFLEX.
|
What does AEGRAFLEX do? – Tasks | Achievements | Goals
The goal of AEGRAFLEX is to be an active and productive
Association that supports its members and the entire industry
through its activities and services:
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX introduces professional and practical training posts
for Flexographers outside Europe in the form of a
„professional and practical training exchange”. It
is working towards a unified training system
throughout Europe. As a result of globalisation,
professions or professional subgroups like engravers and
Flexographers with little public exposure are at risk of being
completely absorbed by professions of greater propagation. A
union with AEGRAFLEX on the other hand offers a chance of
survival. This should not keep us, however, from associating
with professional groupings sharing a similar fate. Joint
activities give us the needed strength.
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX serves as a forum for the exchange of trade
information and meetings with peers. A forum for communication
is already available on the website of AEGRAFLEX.
|
|
◊
|
The AEGRAFLEX logo marks engravers and Flexographers as
specialists of their craft. Membership in AEGRAFLEX is a sign of
the professional quality of a business. AEGRAFLEX members are
entitled to carry the logo and use it for advertising purposes
as they see fit (subject to the attached Rules).
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX facilitates trade visits between member businesses.
The AEGRAFLEX logo not only marks the holder as a member of the
Association but also imparts a feeling of belonging which bids
other members welcome.
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX serves as a platform for initiating business
transactions between members, e.g. when co-operations are
desired or for the purchase and sale of second-hand equipment.
As an additional benefit, a source book „Who Makes
What?” is compiled.

Public relations works provides engravers and Flexographers with
a positive image and a higher degree of awareness on part of the
final consumer. The website of AEGRAFLEX is a part of this PR
work. It contains basic information on the Association, of the
industry and provides a description of the engraving and
flexography industry. The presence of AEGRAFLEX in the
international and domestic trade press is to be expanded further.
|
|
◊
|
„graflex – Bulletin professionnel”, the
newsletter of AEGRAFLEX, allows comprehensive communication
between members and informs on important development in the
engraving and flexography industry
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX hosts the international trade exhibition
„GRAFLEX”, the European trade fair for
engravers, Flexographers and stamp makers.
|
|
◊
|
AEGRAFLEX holds conventions, workshops, study trips and other
professional events for its members.
|
|
◊
|
Engravers and Flexographers in the new member states of
the European Union should also be given an opportunity to
profit from the official activities of AEGRAFLEX.
|
|
◊
|
The SEMI (Suppliers of the European Marking Industry) Group
was founded in 1990. Since then it has been sharing the same
premises with AEGRAFLEX. AEGRAFLEX and the SEMI Group are now
cooperating on projects of relevance to the industry as a whole.
Its supplying industry is to be integrated into the work of the
Association more closely in the future.
|
|
◊
|
The EU provides small- and medium-sized enterprises in the
member states with various subsidy programs. In particular, the
possibilities of obtaining non-financial support can best be
coordinated by AEGRAFLEX. E.g. these subsidy services make it
possible to publish details on the professional qualifications
of member businesses.
